Princess Pigtoria and the Pea by Pamela Duncan Edwards

This retelling of the fairy tale The Princess and the Pea is funny and colorful. This story is brought to you by the letter "p". Princess Pigtoria is poor and her palace is a pig sty. She sees and ad from Prince Proudfoot of Porksville looking for a bride. Pigtoria travels to see the prince and isn't impressed with him. He decides to hide a pea in her bed to see if she's a proper princess.
Pigtoria is hungry and decides to order a pizza and then the palace porter brings pineapple punch, the potato peeler brings potato chips and popcorn and the pastry cook brings a pumpkin pie. Pigtoria can't sleep and the Prince reveals that he hid a pea in her bed. This angers her and she doesn't marry the prince.
This is a fun and colorful book to share with the youngest readers in your home.

I read this book from the library.

Happy Reading Page.
